Bombay Chutney Usually, my mom and dad used to cook together and make many dishes. They would also create different dishes on their own. Similarly, I like many of their dishes, but one, "Bombay Chutney," is close to my heart. My dad used to cook well because when he was a bachelor, he used to cook on his own. He mostly avoided eating in hotels or restaurants. My mom doesn't know how to cook. My dad taught cooking to my mom after marriage. However, I don't like one of the dishes which my dad used to cook, which is nothing but Arisi upma. You may think this dish is made out of rava, but absolutely not. This is made out of rice. So coming to this Bombay Chutney, this is my dad's recipe and my mom's dish. Several years before, my dad got transferred to Cuddalore from his office. We had our own house there, so my dad used to be there and go to the office regularly. He had an induction stove and some necessary utensils. So he used to cook on his own and visit us eve

One of my weird experiences from primary schooling - Part 2 So now, the students from the entire building were gathered on the ground, and I noticed that the whole school was evacuating. It seemed like an emergency alert. All the teachers were grouped together, and one of them came forward to explain the reason for the current situation and what needed to be done next. She mentioned that they had received an earthquake alert from the government and needed to safely send the children back to their respective homes and close the school. Additionally, she informed us that our school had experienced very mild earthquake symptoms. We were shocked to hear the news and inquired about the exams that were scheduled for that day, which had been interrupted. I realize it may seem childish, as we were kids at the time, but we were eager to know about our exams, especially the Maths exam. The teacher reassured us that the exams had been postponed to another day and instructed us to leave for home i

One of my weird experiences from primary schooling - Part 1 After reading my blogs like "Mysteries of My School Part 1 and Part 2," you may think that this girl's school is typically a weird and horrendous school. However, that is not the case. Actually, my school is not horrendous, but I can say that my primary schooling was really odd. I experienced a lot of things during that time. I would like to share one of my weird experiences with you in this blog. I don't remember whether I was in my third or fifth grade, but it was during my primary schooling. I was writing my Maths exam when suddenly many students started shouting and running in the corridor. We all stopped writing our exams, and the teacher who was supervising the examination was in shock. She didn't know what was happening outside and asked us to maintain silence and continue writing our Maths exam. However, we were not in the mood to write our exams; instead, we were curious to know what was happenin

Importance of Responsibility A man enters an office to attend an interview. He passes through the office gate and notices that water from a hose is being wasted instead of watering the plants in the garden. The gardener is not taking care of this. He closes the valve of the water hose and continues into the office. Upon entering, he sees that the entrance mat is not in the proper place, so he adjusts it. Inside, he notices that lights and fans are on wastefully with no one working there. He switches them off and climbs the steps to the room where the interview is being held. There, he sees a photo hanging upside down and corrects its position. He then proceeds to the interview room, where he learns that the interviewer rejects everyone. Nervous, he enters when called. The interviewer warmly welcomes him and informs him that he has been appointed as a manager without even asking a single question. Overwhelmed with happiness and shock, he asks for the reason behind his appointment. The i

Do you like Parotta? I like Parotta so much, and it is also one of my favorite foods. Parotta is a famous South Indian dish made of maida. There are different types of Parotta in Tamil Nadu, such as Bun Parotta, Veechu Parotta, Nool Parotta, and Egg Parotta. I have tried Bun Parotta and Veechu Parotta, which are famous in the Madurai district of Tamil Nadu. Food is not just about taste; it's also about feeling. Parotta is one of my favorite dishes because it makes me feel happy and comforted whenever I eat it. I have eaten Parotta many times since my childhood, but the Parotta I had from Hotel Bilal in Chrompet, near Vetri theatre, stands out in my heart. Recently, I went there with my friends many times and we tried Chicken Biryani, Parotta, Chicken rice, and Pepper chicken. Parotta pairs well with veg kuruma and non-veg salna. This hotel provides chicken salna and beef salna for Parotta, creating the ultimate combination. The Parotta is close to my heart because of its texture an

The Golden Rule In a town, there was a house in which lived a family. The members of the family included a father, mother, and a son. All three were working people, and the house was also maintained by a housemaid. One day, the father received a telephone bill that was very high, even though the family did not use the telephone themselves. The father yelled at the mother for getting a high telephone bill and stated that he did not use the telephone in the house, as he used the telephone in his office. The mother also explained that she did not use the telephone at home, as she used the one in her office. The mother suspected that perhaps their son had used the telephone.  During this conversation, their son entered the house and was also asked the same question by his father. The son replied that he did not use the telephone at home, as he used the one in his office. He also mentioned that maybe the housemaid had used the telephone in their absence.  When the housemaid entered the hous

MYSTERIES OF MY SCHOOL PART 2 - CHILDREN'S DAY MYSTERY  When I was in 5th grade, one of my senior sisters passed away in school due to a heart attack. During a PET period, the PET staff asked her entire class to run around the ground twice. She was not feeling well that day. She struggled to complete the first round and, following the PET staff's command, continued to run around the ground once more. Suddenly, she fell to the ground, unable to breathe, and fainted. Her classmates took her to the PET staff, who immediately informed the Principal and called an ambulance to take her to the nearby hospital. The doctor later confirmed that she had already died on the way to the hospital. That was the last Children's Day we celebrated by wearing colorful dresses. Since then, we were not allowed to wear colorful dresses on Children's Day instead we wear uniform. Many claim that her ghost still wanders the school campus, and some have even reported seeing her ghost at night. So

MYSTERIES OF MY SCHOOL PART 1 - MYSTERIOUS PATH IN THE ASSISI BLOCK I attended two different schools during my schooling years. I completed my education up to 1st grade at one school, and from 2nd grade to 12th grade at another school. The second school I attended is a Christian school consisting of five buildings, each with different names. During my 4th grade, I was in the Assisi block, which had two floors. This block had one central stage and four staircases - one in the left corner, one in the right corner, one along the stage in the center, and one in the middle of the center and right corner staircases. The last mentioned staircase was particularly mysterious. It had a horrific appearance with blood drop stains on the ceiling and hand impressions with blood. Many students avoided using this staircase, only using it in groups in case of an emergency. When I heard about these mysteries, I was curious and wanted to witness the impressions myself. I went with my friends to see them,

Love Love is a strong feeling that you have when you like somebody or something very much. It is also an emotion that we all yearn for. Right from the day we are born, we crave love. Love and care are essential for both human beings and animals. I believe that love is present everywhere in some form or another. No matter how rude or tough a person may appear on the outside, there must be a certain amount of love within them. Amongst other relationships, the mother-child relationship is said to be the strongest due to unconditional love. As we grow up, we make friends, meet teachers, relatives, neighbors, and many other people. Do you know what attracts us to a person? It is love. A person with a kind and loving nature is loved by all. Someone who is kind and lovable will easily attract others. There is ordinary love and divine love. I remember during one of my classes, Professor David Abraham Albert shared with us the difference between ordinary love and divine love. He explained tha

Not just a Homemaker She is a woman who loves to spend her time taking care of her family. It's something she does for them and for herself. She enjoys the time she spends in her kitchen, cooking a variety of dishes for her children and husband. She is satisfied when they enjoy what she makes, and her own hunger for satisfaction is fulfilled by seeing the happiness on their faces.  Sometimes, she has endless work to do. She rises early before everyone else and goes to bed late after everyone else. She does not take holidays. It is not only women who should be homemakers, as husbands can also take on this role. It is nice to see a woman's husband cooking, taking care of the children, and doing household chores on weekends, even encouraging his wife to take a break.  A woman is blessed with infinite power and knowledge, whether she is a homemaker or a working woman. She is not just a homemaker; she also possesses talents and skills. Dorothy Kelly Patterson rightly said, "K

Is education useful for our jobs? Education is the act or process of acquiring general knowledge, developing the powers of reasoning and judgement, and generally preparing oneself or others intellectually for mature life. The function of education is to think better and critically, helping develop a perspective and opinions towards life. It can help gain respect from others and sharpen our minds. Education helps to change society. Overall, it is said that education can have a positive effect on employability. It can give you the skills, knowledge, and confidence you need to succeed in the workplace. However, the education we receive from schools may not actually be useful for our jobs. By simply memorizing or studying portions and writing our exams, we graduate. There are no practical sessions for each and every idea in our education systems. Abroad, instead of theoretical classes, they have practical classes. This may be a reason for the standard and quality of education abroad. Do

Is it good to Confess ? There are different aspects of confession. They are: 1. An act of admitting that you have done something that you are ashamed of or embarrassed about. 2. A declaration of love, also known as a confession of love, is a form of expressing one's love for someone or something. 3. A disclosure of one's sins in the sacrament of reconciliation. I have found that fear is a common factor among all types of confessions. Whether it is confessing the truth or guilt, confessing one's sins, or confessing love, fear always plays a significant role. For example, if a child wants to confess a mistake to their parents, they hesitate due to fear even if they think about or try to admit it. Another example is with a love confession. For instance, if a boy wants to confess his love for a girl, fear may prevent him from doing so out of concern for how the girl might react. Confession not only holds deep spiritual value but is also immensely beneficial psychologically. I

Are you a person who speaks to plants ? Plants provide various benefits for people. They can purify the air and help keep us healthy. Some plants can even provide medicine or food when needed. Plants offer a variety of vegetables, fruits, oxygen, and other essentials while assisting in controlling carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. They are predominantly photosynthetic, meaning they obtain their energy from sunlight. However, plants also obtain energy from human beings. Yes, plants can listen to what we say and respond to us. For example, encouraging plants with kind words can lead to better growth. It is not a joke, but a fact that plants respond to our words and even music, aiding in their growth. I strongly believe in this idea because I have personally experienced it. In my home, we had a money plant that was not growing properly despite efforts with organic fertilizers. When I started talking to the plant with love and care, expressing my commitment to its growth, I saw a noticea

Importance of Trust Trust is the most important form that allows people to live and work together and feel safe. Trust is the confidence that we have in someone else. Trust is believing someone or something is reliable and honest. It is the basic foundation for any relationship. Trust is essential in life. "To trust means to rely on another person because you feel safe with them and have confidence that they will not hurt or violate you. Trust is the foundation of relationships because it allows you to be vulnerable and open up to the person without having to defensively protect yourself," says Romanoff. According to Sabrina Romanoff, PsyD, a clinical psychologist and professor at Yeshiva University, it is the basis of a solid relationship. This definition of trust, given by Sabrina Romanoff, deeply resonates with my life. This definition not only applies to intimate relationships but also to friendships. Trust is an important pillar in relationships, and the lack of it can

My Native place The native place is a bundle of joy, peace, happiness, nature, and memories. It holds a special place in the hearts of people, embodying their ancestral heritage, traditions, and identity. Upon hearing the term native place, our minds immediately conjure up thoughts of vacation, summer holidays, journeys, and relatives. Nowadays, as people live in cities, they yearn to visit their relatives and grandparents at least once a year. I visited my native place, a suburban town in the Dindigul district, last year during my semester holidays. Prior to that, the last time I had visited my native place was when I was in the fifth grade. It was a wonderful experience to return and reconnect with my family members, reliving some of my childhood memories. Upon our visit to our native place after such a long time, my grandparents and relatives were overwhelmed with happiness and took great care of us. We visited the Kodaikanal hills, which are near our house, and took photos togeth

Happiness Happiness is the key to everything and it spreads positivity within us and the people around us. Happiness cannot be described through words; rather, it is an emotion that can only be felt. The key to attaining happiness is discovering our inner satisfaction and joy. Finding what makes us happy is essential.  Means of happiness vary from person to person. Some may feel happy and content when they achieve something in life or when they acquire something new like a car, house, job, or admission. Some may feel happy when they visit a new place with their loved ones or when they spend quality time with their family. Some gain happiness by helping others and doing good deeds.  Small things can make us happy. For example, having biriyani for dinner, having vada or bajji and tea during rainy days. These are some small things that make us happy sometimes. I feel happy when I spend quality time with my friends. And basically, I love food. So when I see food, I immediately feel happy

My first ever dish If I were to ask someone about the first dish they ever cooked, most likely they would say Maggi, Dosa, Omelette, etc. Some may even joke and say hot water was their first dish. However, I would like to share my first cooking experience and the lessons I learned from it. While dishes like Maggi, Dosa, Omelette, etc. are simple, I do not consider them to be proper or complete dishes. I have cooked many simple dishes, but the one I consider my first ever dish is paneer butter masala. Paneer butter masala is a dish that everyone loves, especially when paired with butter naan. Many people prefer to have this dish in restaurants rather than attempting to make it at home. However, I was inspired to try making it at home after tasting my mom's friend's delicious version of the dish. Cooking this dish posed many challenges for me as a beginner, such as chopping onions, peeling ginger, and the grinding process. Initially, I struggled with these tasks, but with time,

What if a tree speaks ? One day, I was on a walk when suddenly the alarm calls of the birds and animals were heard from the forest. The scene terrified me a lot. The number of woodcutters was chopping down trees and destroying the lives of the inhabitants. A nest fell down from a tree and the hatchlings were tweeting. They were totally helpless as they could not walk or perch. Suddenly, a thunder strike hit a tree from where the nest fell down. That tree started to speak to the woodcutters. The tree spoke as follows, "We provide you with oxygen. We provide you with livelihoods. We are a source of your life. Like a mother feeds her child, we trees provide you with everything you need from us. We too have a heart. We too have a life. We too have a purpose on this earth. And we too have an urge to see, not a demon, not a monster, but a soft soul who can feel the tenderness of us. We plead with you not as a source of your life but as creatures who long for love."   Modern technologies and health issues  Science and technology play a vital role in our day-to-day life. Our present and future generations can't live without technologies. With the help of scientific advancements and modern technologies, we are living a luxurious lifestyle. However, our ancestors didn't experience, or in other words, they didn't blend with these modern technologies and science.  Their lifestyle is totally different, and they didn't have any health issues. Interestingly, in those days, there were no hospital facilities, and if there was one, it would be far away. Our ancestors didn't use mixer grinders, washing machines, refrigerators, motorcycles, air coolers, and, most importantly, mobile phones. Obviously, we can't live without these things. Nowadays, we have an alternative method for everything. For example, instead of physically turning on the fan, we have a remote to control it from one place without any movement. Instead of washing cloth

My perspective on 'Food' Thinking about the word 'food' itself creates a lot of imagination in our minds, depending on our taste preferences. I'm not going to bore you by stating that food is a basic human need to stay alive, or that there are numerous varieties of food items that are special and unique. Instead, I'm going to talk about 'food' from a different perspective. For me, food is something special that makes me feel good and happy. I love to eat and explore different varieties of foods. I can also say that because I love food, I started to learn cooking and I'm skilled at preparing a variety of dishes. Let me tell you something, if you are feeling depressed, go and have some food. I'm certain that it will help you come out of your depression or at the very least, reduce your stress levels and depression. I believe many people are not aware of this technique, as they tend not to eat when they are feeling down or after experiencing a fai

What is valuable according to you ?  During one of my summer vacations, it was a bright and sunny day. The sun shone brilliantly in the clear, blue sky, with white, fluffy clouds drifting across. I was excited to welcome my cousin and her family. After having lunch, we played Uno together. It was a memorable vacation for both of us. I would like to share a significant incident from that vacation and convey a deep message to everyone. My cousin has a habit of forgetting things. Whatever she likes and buys, she tends to forget where she kept it after a few hours. She often laments about this, feeling bad, and asked for a solution to overcome this habit. She struggles to keep a pen or notebook safely and can't seem to get rid of this forgetfulness. I suggested a solution to her: to buy a costly pen. After returning home, she purchased an expensive pen. A few days later, she called me, very happily, and told me that she had slowly overcome her forgetfulness. When I asked her the reas
