Are Faith and Trust the same ?

In the midst of lush green valleys, there lies a majestic mountain. At the peak of the mountain, a man is hanging on for dear life. He is clinging to the root of a tree on the mountain. He knows that he is going to die soon and also realizes that there is very little chance of being saved. His sweat is shedding drop by drop as his life is gradually slipping away. In this desperate situation, he suddenly starts to pray to God to save his life. Up until that moment, he was a man who did not have faith in God and never prayed in any situation, regardless of the circumstances.

Suddenly, a heavenly voice is heard from the peak of the majestic mountain. The voice asks the man why he suddenly started praying to God and trusted Him, considering he previously had no trust in God. The man explained that if God saved him, he would start trusting Him from that moment on. God then asked how the man would believe Him. The man assured Him that he would indeed trust Him. To test the man, God asked him to let go of the root. The man replied that he would die if he did so.

And then the voice disappeared.

Having faith in God is different from trusting God. Faith is a belief system, but trust goes one step further. Trust is an action. Trust is not foolish, but rather a belief that God will help and guide us in difficult situations. He knows what is good and what is bad for us.
